Corporate Social Responsibility

Our Corporate Social Responsibility and Community Relations division promotes the physical and emotional wellbeing of our members and the community at large, especially the elderly and disabled.

Sensitivity Platform

This initiative promotes the fair treatment and understanding of the elderly population

The Sensitivity Platform was created to promote the fair treatment of the elderly and disabled populations. This is achieved through workshops that explain their real situation and place participants in the position of older adults via exercises that illustrate their limitations. More than 35,000 people have participated in these workshops, including our employees, patient associations, educational institutions, health service providers, and the community at large.

Also, the “Súper Nieto” (Super Grandchild) program is a related initiative, aimed at children and adolescents. It seeks to foster in young people the values, understanding, tolerance and sensitivity that must be had with older adults and with anyone who has a disability or special need.

Additionally, the “Change the Switch” program focuses on healthy and family life, nutrition, exercise and self-esteem. It is aimed at parents and caregivers of elementary school children in public schools.

Vaccination Clinics

Prevent diseases by getting vaccinated

We believe in the benefits of prevention for our members and the community. We support mass vaccination efforts to reduce the human papillomavirus and every year, against influenza, we exceed vaccination expectations in hospitals, medical offices, pharmacies, regional offices of MMM and our Members Club, among others.

During the 2017-2018 flu season, more than 59,300 members received free vaccinations.

Health Care Partnerships

Working together with specialized entities for your health care

In addition to the specialized benefits that support the coordinated care of the elderly and disabled populations, at MMM we focus on creating health care partnerships.

This demonstrates our vision of leadership, innovation and trust, to achieve proven growth and positive results.

These are a few of the specialized entities with which we have established alliances and/or collaborative agreements:

  • American Heart Association
  • Puerto Rico Lung Association
  • Puerto Rico Alzheimer’s Association
  • United Way of Puerto Rico
  • Gerontology Society of Puerto Rico
  • Puerto Rico Hospitals Association
  • Mennonite Health System
  • Metro Pavía Health System
  • Universidad del Este, Sistema Ana G. Méndez
  • Department of Health, Medicaid Office and the ¡Déjalo Ya! program
  • Hospital Association – Quality Collaborative Program

Community Activities

Enjoy educational talks, initiatives and events

For over fifteen years we have touched hearts in your community, hosting a variety of educational talks and addressing social issues around the Island. In addition, we sponsor and collaborate with events and initiatives aimed at promoting a better quality of life.

Volunteer Program

We come together to promote goodwill

Our Volunteer Program promotes goodwill among our employees and the populations we serve. We are pleased to see the support of so many professional colleagues united by a common goal in activities to help people of all ages.

We also establish links with various charities that promote the physical and emotional wellbeing of older adults and children, such as the United Way, Health Associations, and Fundación Dorada, among others.

Our staff is eager to help, and therefore today we are a corporate partner of the United Way and Fundación Dorada. Employees have the option of contributing through payroll deductions to support various institutions.

Patitas Calientes

Specialized trainers just for you

The Patitas Calientes community program was created in 2004 and promotes physical activity through 21 groups around the Island. It features specialized trainers for the elderly. The groups meet to do exercises and participate in various activities that promote education, spend time together, and enjoy good physical and emotional health.

A volunteer leader, chosen by the group, can become certified by the Department of Recreation and Sports in exercises for the elderly as part of a program incentive. In this way, leaders can help their members continue the balance and stretching exercises that are appropriate for their age and particular conditions.

Over 1,000 participants make up the success stories of improved quality of life that come as a result of participating in this program. If you are interested in creating an MMM Patitas Calientes group in your community (with more than 15 participants over 60 years old), please leave a message at 787-622-7511.

Medicare Advisory Member Committee & More

Your health plan, MMM Healthcare, LLC, has a new opportunity for members who want to be more involved in their health plan decisions. The Enrollee Advisory Committee (EAC) is a forum where your voice can be heard. The EAC provides a safe space for participants to speak directly with multiple leaders in our organization who will listen and act on the recommendations received.

The EAC is open to active MMM members or their authorized representatives who are interested in improving their health benefits and services and impacting the experience of using the plan for their medical needs. As an EAC Advisor, you will play an essential role in helping us improve the health plan for all of our members.

What to expect from MMM’s EAC:

Quarterly Meetings

The EAC will meet quarterly as follows: plan staff will visit a specific Member’s Club at any of our 7 locations (Bayamón, Caguas, Carolina, Hatillo, Manatí, Mayagüez and Ponce), to receive members who are interested in participating in person, and at the same time, access will be provided via Zoom platform to other members who wish to participate virtually from another Member’s Club or from the comfort of their home.

Opportunity to interact directly with plan staff

This is a unique opportunity that will allow you to share your ideas/feedback on how to improve the services provided by the plan or members’ experience using it; as well as to ask questions or get clarification on related topics.

Educational Talk on Topics Related to Your Health Plan

An educational component of interest, presented by plan staff, will be included at each meeting.

Meet other health plan members and visit Member’s Club facilities.
